The Guangzhou Government plans to build a train station near the Baiyun International Airport on the northern outskirt, said Wang Dong, Director General of the Municipal Bureau of Planning, in Beijing yesterday.
"The project strategy has been set out," Mr. Wang said. "The operation details, such as the exact location, will be worked out later."

The Baiyun International Airport on the northern outskirt of Guangzhou.
The station will function mainly as a connection to the airport. In the future, airline passengers will be able to transfer to the Wuhan-Guangzhou Railway Station after landing.
New train station in Panyu to bundle Guangzhou and Foshan
The new Guangzhou Train Station is also being constructed in southern Guangzhou's Panyu. A key project of the Guangzhou-Foshan Package Development project, it will serve the Pearl River Delta and South China, Wang said.
The station will feature a massive open plaza that will be accessible from the front and rear to facilitate passengers and traffic.
There will be metro lines, expressways and roads from Guangzhou and Foshan connected to the station.
Guangzhou and neighboring Foshan will be integrated in three places – Fangcun (west), Nansha (south) and the Baiyun Airport (north).
