Asiad themed singing party held on Guangzhou campus

A singing party to promote Asian Games themed songs was held at Guangzhou No.3 Middle School in the city's Yuexiu District yesterday.

Three thousand students in the district attended the party, along with representatives from the Ceremonies & Cultural Events Department of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC), Yuexiu District Government, Bureau of Education of Guangzhou Municipality and Bureau of Education of Yuexiu District. Ning Xiaozhou, Deputy Director of the Ceremonies & Cultural Events Department of GAGOC, presented Certificates of Honour to the Bureau of Education of Yuexiu District and Guangzhou No.3 Middle School.

As a prelude to the nation-wide promotion of Asian Games themed songs, the party was co-organised by GAGOC and the Bureau of Education of Yuexiu District with the assistance of Guangzhou No.3 Middle School. In addition to the singing of Asian Games themed songs, the party also involved Asian Games cheerleader performances and a Q & A session to make the students better informed about the Asian Games.

GAGOC will also organise various promotions of the songs at other schools and communities in the city.
