Tune in to Asian Games Live!

Guangzhou, China, February 4 - The 16th Asian Games (www.gz2010.cn/en), part of the worldwide Olympic movement and governed by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), today announced an agreement with Radio Guangdong (http://e.rgd.com.cn) to produce the station's first all-English sports talk show - Asian Games Live!

Airing each weekend starting Saturday, February 6, "Asian Games Live!" will focus on development and sports activities coming to Guangzhou and the Pearl River Delta before and during the 16th Asian Games, which will be held from November 12-27.

Based in Guangzhou, Radio Guangdong is a provincial-level station consisting of nine channels offering progressive music and sports programming and has an audience reach of 72 million daily listeners. With 167 hours of daily programming on political, economic, social and cultural issues, for the past five years, Radio Guangdong has enjoyed a 70 percent market share among all radio listeners in the Pearl River Delta and within Guangzhou. The outlets which make up the Radio Guangdong family of stations are also available to listeners in neighbouring provinces, as well as Hong Kong and Macao.

Among the 90 million permanent residents in Guangdong, some 72 million radio listeners listen daily to one or more of Radio Guangdong's stations. With 98 radio stations and 121 radio frequencies available in Guangdong Province, Radio Guangdong and its channels have consistently ranked first in listener loyalty and satisfaction. Radio Guangdong was previously called Radio Canton and aired its first broadcast on October 18, 1949.
