Guangzhou, February 9 - Asian Games Pioneer will soon be launched as a colour supplement of Guangzhou Youth Daily on volunteers of the 16th Asian Games. Last Friday, the pilot issue of Asian Games Pioneer was released at the Asian Games Volunteers Media Summit in Guangzhou which was co-hosted by the Volunteers Department of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) and Guangzhou Youth Daily.

Huang Nanbing, Deputy Director of the Ceremonies & Cultural Events Department of GAGOC, Wang Jian, Director of the Training Research Office of the Volunteers Department of GAGOC, and Zhang Haibo, Director of the Publicity Planning Office of the Volunteers Department of GAGOC and President of Guangzhou Youth Daily, attended the summit.

A group of experts are appointed as editors for Asian Games Pioneers.
Mr Zhang gave a presentation of Asian Games Pioneer and called the supplement a remarkable innovation in publicising the Guangzhou 2010 Volunteer Programme and stories of the volunteers.
In the meantime, many experts at the summit suggested making good use of the internet to facilitate the promotion of volunteer spirit among Guangzhou citizens.
