The 67-year man said that promoting Asian Games by this way was not only because of the love for the city of Guangzhou, but also the love of sports. Wang bought the motorcycle after recovering from a heavy illness in 2002, and then began his travel. He travelled the places of Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Anhui, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing and Beijing. In November 2007, he started from his hometown, Pingxiang in Jiangxi, to Beijing, promoting 2008 Beijing Olympics all his way. Hearing about Guangzhou Asian Games was going to be held later this year, Wang decided to do the same thing for the Asian Games again.

Many people gave their support to Wang on his way of travelling. Wang said he planned to travel abroad from Yunnan Province to Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar. "It is not enough that only Chinese people take part in and support Asian Games, but more Asian friends should get involved," added Wang.

He was going to be back to Guangzhou in November this year and to watch the Asian Games.
