600 Asiad volunteer messengers promoting Asian Games in Guangxi

On July 4t 600 Asiad volunteer messengers arrived in Yulin City of Guangxi Province. This time the Asiad messenger representatives from Rong County of Guangxi passed an Asian Games invitation letter signed by Zhang Guangning, the Secretary of Communist Party Committee of Guangzhou to the Vice Mayor of Yulin City, inviting the local people in Yulin to participate in the Guangzhou Asian Games.

"Closely linking tourism resources with the Asian Games elements will be a new way to promote the Guangzhou Asiad," the person in charge of CGZL Asiad volunteer messengers said.

Since its first launch on Jun 30, 2009, Asiad volunteer messenger groups have attracted 46,000 citizens to form 929 messenger groups within merely one year. They have visited 120 cities in 21 countries and regions to promote the Guangzhou Asian Games. The Asian Games volunteer messengers are hailed as "an intangible torch relay" and "local diplomatic ambassadors" for their effective efforts in promoting the Guangzhou Asian Games to various corners of the world.
