Metros run 24 hours a day for Asiad Opening and Closing ceremonies

All lines on Guangzhou Metro will remain open all night long for the Opening and Closing of the Asian Games. This shall be the first time since Guangzhou Metro opened 13 years ago that trains operate for such a long time.

A rehearsal was held last night (August 22) until mid-night with trains running every 15 minutes. This shall concern lines 1/2/3/4/5/8 and the Guang-Fo line if it is completed on time.

For security concerns, this might not apply to the Automated People Mover in Zhujiang New Town as it is directly connected to the venue where the ceremonies shall be held.
